On October 8, 1999, the Bulldogs faced off against the Wisconsin Badgers in a historic Women's WCHA conference game at the Kohl Center in Madison, WI. This game drew the highest attendance of the season, with 3,892 spectators witnessing the Bulldogs secure an 8–1 victory over the Badgers.
In 2006, the Wisconsin Badgers made history by becoming the first team from outside Minnesota to win the Women's Frozen Four championship. They achieved this feat by defeating the reigning champions, the Minnesota Golden Gophers, with a score of 3–0 at Mariucci Arena in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
On January 28, 2012, the Wisconsin Badgers set a new NCAA women's hockey attendance record for the third consecutive year. A crowd of 12,402 fans witnessed the Badgers sweep the Bemidji State Beavers in a game held at the Kohl Center. This broke the previous record of 10,668 fans set on January 29, 2011.
November 6, 2016, marked a significant milestone for Ann-Renee Desbiens, as she achieved her 44th career shutout, surpassing Noora Raty's record for the most NCAA career shutouts.
In a memorable game on December 4, 2016, the Badgers secured an 8-2 victory over their rivals, the Minnesota Golden Gophers, at Labahn Arena. Sarah Nurse's hat trick during this game made her the first player in program history to achieve this feat against Minnesota. This game also marked the first time since October 11, 2015, that Wisconsin scored eight goals in a single game.
On January 14, 2017, Wisconsin once again set a new NCAA women's hockey single-game attendance record during their Fill the Bowl event. A crowd of 15,359 witnessed the Badgers defeat St. Cloud State 2-0, breaking their own previous record of 13,573 set in 2014.
In the 2021 NCAA National Collegiate Women's Ice Hockey Tournament, Daryl Watts scored the game-winning goal in a thrilling 2-1 overtime victory against the Northeastern Huskies. This win secured the program's sixth national championship, all achieved under the guidance of head coach Mark Johnson.
March 19, 2023, saw the Badgers make history once again by becoming the lowest seed to win the NCAA women's hockey tournament. In a tightly contested final against top-seeded Ohio State, Wisconsin emerged victorious with a 1-0 win at AMSOIL Arena in Duluth, Minn. Kirsten Simms scored the lone goal of the game, and Cami Kronish's stellar performance, stopping all 31 shots she faced, earned her the title of Most Outstanding Performer of the Tournament. This victory marked the program's record-breaking seventh NCAA title, with UW also defeating the No. 2 seed, Minnesota, and the No. 3 seed, Colgate, on their path to securing their third NCAA title in five years.
